The
Woman Behind dentassist
Lisa Saiia was
the first dental assisting ROP graduate in California in 1973 during
the days of no gloves, gowns, masks or protective eyewear. Times
have changed and so has the evolution of her company dentassist.
In 1982 she launched a temporary and permanent placement service
specializing in dentistry in Northern California. She offered the
first AIDS/HIV conference for dentistry in 1983, the first Women
in Dentistry conference in the nation, celebrating the contributions
of women in the profession and address women’s healthcare
issues. She educates and instructs practices in the area of OSHA
Bloodborne Pathogens, and certifies Dental Assistants in Infection
Control. Her passion for dentistry, love for research and boundless
energy allows her to tap into her creativity, setting trends, writing
curriculum, developing unique topics for speaking engagements.
Lisa was awarded the “Business Woman of the Year”, known
as “The Wise Woman Award” in 2010 for her enthusiasm
in assisting dental professionals to achieve success, her dedicated
disaster relief volunteer work with the American Red Cross and success
as a business woman. Outside of dentistry you may cross her path
trekking in the mountains gathering inspiration for another dental
venture. |
